The Golden Spoon. Life When Changing Parents

 

Have you ever felt bored with life? Or maybe you have thought that hoping for a miracle to come and change our lives?. But has it ever crossed your mind that you want to change parents? What do you guys think about that? This time I will discuss the story of the latest underated but interesting Korean drama. The drama is titled “The Golden Spoon”, which premiered on September 23, and is currently running 12 episodes. This drama is adapted from a webtoon story with the same title, but will experience slight changes in the drama version. In essence, this drama tells the lives of two teenage boys, namely 'Seungchon' and 'Taeyeong', they come from two 360-degree different families. Seungchon is a child who comes from a poor family, his father works as a part-time comic writer, his mother works odd jobs at home, and his older sister works in a salon. While Taeyong comes from a wealthy family, where his father's company is the second largest company in all of Korea, his family is respected, his stepmother is a famous and beautiful pianist. Seungchon and Taeyong went to the same school, they were even in the same class. Seungchon is lucky to be accepted to attend such a prestigious and expensive place because of his intelligence, but unfortunately Seungchon is often beaten and bullied by his friend who is a rich person.

One day Seungchon felt very hopeless about his miserable life, he felt sick and angry with his family's situation. His father who every day works only to write comics and does not make much money, and his mother who works hard. Then seungchon accidentally met a grandmother selling antiques on the side of the road, and seungchon stopped for a moment to take a look. The grandmother offered him a golden spoon and said that if he used the spoon to eat at his friend's house, then he would swap parents with his friend. Seungchon was surprised and didn't believe it at first, but because of his desperation, he finally bought the spoon. At first he hesitated, but without thinking he went straight to Taeyeong's house to ask for food. Taeyong was confused by Seungchon's strange attitude who suddenly asked for food, and ate at his house like a hungry person. At first the spoon didn't react, but after the second time he ate at Taeyeong's house, surprisingly in an instant he became Taeyeong. Then suddenly in an instant Seungchon became the son of a rich man, and managed to get everything. Seungchon feels very happy and feels like a dream, he is now free from poverty. Meanwhile, Taeyong who doesn't know anything, suddenly wakes up at Seungchon's house and instantly becomes Seungchon, his life changes drastically to being in a poor family. Taeyeong doesn't realize that his life has changed, because he has forgotten his memories when he became Taeyeong.

The lives of the two of them immediately changed drastically like heaven and earth, Seungchon enjoyed his luxurious life, and Taeyeong who was with his poor family. But over time even though Seungchon's life has changed for the better, he has many problems. Taeyeong's father is a very strict and ambitious person, Seungchon always feels pressured because he is given a lot of rules, as well as Taeyeong's evil stepmother. Sometimes Seungchon feels sorry for changing lives, and wants to return to his poor parents, but he still feels the need to be rich. But what does it mean if being rich makes him unhappy? On the other hand, Taeyeong feels very happy with Seungchon's family. Even though they are poor and deprived, Taeyeong feels the warmth and affection of a family that he has never felt. Taeyong no longer feels his father's pressure and harsh treatment anymore, because Seungchon's father and mother are very gentle and love him with all their heart.

The ending of this story is still not finished because this drama still in episode 12, whether Seungchon and Taeyeong will return to their respective families, or they will continue to live their lives that are mixed. However, we can draw many conclusions and lessons from this drama story. Sometimes in life we ​​often feel ungrateful for what we have, and often feel envious of the lives of others. If you were in Seungchon's position and were offered the golden spoon, would you still accept it? Honestly, sometimes I also have the same thoughts as Seungchon. But if it was me, I wouldn't accept the golden spoon. Because no matter how difficult life is, the best place to die is one's own family. So don't forget to be grateful for what you have. Maybe there are many people out there who expect and want what we have. One's own family is the most precious treasure, and the best place to come home to.
